You know I always love your writing, Abigail, but today I'm cursing you for the minutes I just lost on TikTok (not an app I usually use). The cognitive dissonance between being scolded to tidy my house (Jung was wrong! no need to process your emotions, just scrub your toilet!) and then witnessing a cartful of garbage from Walmart that is on the fast track to clutter and landfill has be absolutely gobsmacked!
Ha! I’m sorry! I should’ve added a warning not to click the links. Consider it a reminder of the cultural moment? 🥴 I’m also never on TikTok but I do get drug down Instagram reels often, which I suppose isn’t much better. I’d found this Kylie through a recycled IG page actually but had to link to her original pages for authenticity. I appreciate the ways these apps tap me into the moment in a way. But it can quickly become too much tappage

a reminder of our cultural moment, indeed! 😳 😭
Absolutely brilliant, one of your best pieces, and couldn’t agree more with your P.S.
Such a great read, thank you!
