There’s science behind this! Have you heard of the Old Brain? It’s that deep core brain which controls our vital functions and once powered our evolutionary ancestors. This Old Brain includes our hypothalamus. The hypothalamus manages our “Four F’s” — fighting, fleeing, feeding, and fornication. Since these F’s are all driven from the same small spot in our skulls, they can, and do, cross over.

It may be why after a fight you feel compelled to fuck. For my husband, and from practice, myself,1 the same sense that makes a person want to flee from disgusting, potentially life-threatening stimuli can turn you on.
